The Columbia Stem Cell Initiative is engaged in education and training about stem cell research at multiple levels. Courses for undergraduates are taught by leaders in the field, providing the new generation with an opportunity to better understand, and engage in, this exciting field. Undergraduates get the opportunity to work in stem cell laboratories across the university during summer internships. Graduate students have access to stem cell biology through multiple programs, including two specifically focused on the basic and translational potential of stem cells. Medical and MD/PhD students receive training in the translational and ethical aspects of stem cell research, and can apply for training grants for clinical studies and research. All members of CSCI can benefit from the monthly CSCI Internal Seminars, which provide updates in real time on the latest progress and new techniques. Last but not least, CSCI members are engaged in outreach activities aiming to increase the level of awareness and knowledge about stem cell biology in the public at large.

This page is under construction. If your program is not featured, please contact Dola Sengupta (ds2865@columbia.edu). If you have suggestions for further training possibilities, please contact Oliver Hobert (or38@columbia.edu)
